Coastal Engineering Specialist Role

We are seeking a seasoned Coastal Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be involved in various projects related to coastal and marine environments.

Job Description:
  • Port planning and design projects, including layout design, master planning, navigation assessments, and berthing evaluations
  • Client and team coordination to ensure smooth project execution
  • Design of coastal protection structures such as breakwaters, groynes, revetments, and other hard solutions
  • Design of beaches and beach stabilisation measures, reclamations, and other soft coastal engineering solutions
  • Marine engineering tasks, including ship-shore interface design, berthing and mooring equipment design, and environmental load assessments on port structures
  • Coastal studies, including wave/hydraulic studies, morphology analysis, scour assessments, and metocean studies
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute complex analyses ranging from metocean studies to dynamic mooring analysis
  • Participate in projects from feasibility to detailed design level
  • Support draughters and BIM modellers to ensure compliance with customised designs and specifications
  • Coach junior coastal engineers
Requirements:
  • Minimum degree in a relevant field, preferably environmental engineering or civil engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a coastal engineer
  • Strong project management skills and knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a highly adaptable environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in report writing
  • Flexible working attitude with willingness to travel and secondments abroad
