Job Title: High School Science Laboratory Associate Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as a High School Science Laboratory Associate. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Science department by providing administrative and technical assistance. Key Responsibilities: 
  • Supply Management and Planning
    • Maintain accurate inventory records of laboratory supplies and participate in forecasting to ensure timely ordering.
    • Assist with purchasing, acquiring, and delivering supplies from local and international sources.
    • Coordinate grade level supply orders, preparing purchase requests and following up on deliveries.
    • Handle specimens, including biological materials, for regular science programs.
  • Lab Setup and Technical Support
    • Set up and break down division Science Labs, including technological integration, chemical mixing, and biological specimen preparation.
    • Work with technology applications (hardware and software) for science labs, demonstrations, and presentations.
  • Safety and Best Practices
    • Follow best practices around chemical, specimen, and lab equipment hygiene, safety, and storage.
    • Assist in labs dealing with hazardous materials and assist in incidents.
    • Promote environmental sustainability in lab practices.
    • Maintain comprehensive digital and physical record-keeping for experiments, lab results, and safety incidents.
  • Instructional Support
    • Assist science teachers with complex lab procedures.
    • Support all levels of science programming at the high school.
    • Assist new science teachers with lab facilities and protocols.
    • Collaborate with other departments for cross-curricular lab elements.
  • Professional Conduct
    • Communicate effectively with department members.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student records.
    • Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.
    • Relate courteously with students, parents, and staff.
