Job Opportunity: Speech Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Therapy Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our Speech Therapists in delivering high-quality care to patients with swallowing and communication difficulties.

The role involves carrying out assigned swallowing and communication rehabilitation plans, preparing and maintaining therapy materials and equipment, maintaining accurate session documentation, and ensuring the cleanliness of therapy areas. You will also support caregiver education, such as assisting in teaching caregivers swallow exercises and preparation of modified diet/fluid consistencies, and facilitate communication between therapists and patients.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work well independently and in groups. A recognised certificate in therapy services and experience as a therapy assistant in relevant clinical settings would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out assigned swallowing and communication rehabilitation plans
  • Preparing and maintaining therapy materials and equipment
  • Maintaining accurate session documentation
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of therapy areas
  • Supporting caregiver education

Requirements:

  • GCE 'N' or 'O' Level or Diploma in any field
  • Recognised Certificate in Therapy Services and Experience as a Therapy Assistant in relevant clinical settings (an advantage)
  • Able to work well independently and in groups
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
