Join a talented team of developers shaping the future of graphics technologies. We are looking for a skilled C++/Rust engineer to design and implement innovative features across the Mir stack.

Job Description

Mir is a high-performance, high-efficiency technology stack for window managers, display subsystems and solutions built on top of it, like Ubuntu Frame. As a member of our engineering team, you will work with us to enable seamless app experiences in every graphical environment.

Our goal is to empower communities to realize a world where apps work seamlessly everywhere. You will contribute to building a cutting-edge platform that combines the strengths of C++ and Rust.

We value precision, performance, and user experience above all else. Our daily drill includes designing, developing, and testing features as well as collaborating with the community and addressing issues and user inquiries.

Most of our software is written in C++, with support tooling in scripting languages. We will utilize Rust as an evolutionary step forward. Therefore, candidates are expected to have strong skills in both Rust and C++. Experience with the Wayland protocol ecosystem and compositors is a plus.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar and 2+ years of working experience.
  • Exceptional modern C++ and excellent Rust programming skills.
  • Familiarity with Linux as a development and deployment platform.
  • Ability to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and remain highly motivated, productive, and organized.
