Key Responsibilities:
  • Concept Art Creation: Develop high-quality concept art, including character designs, environments, props, and visual themes that align with the project's artistic direction.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the art director, game designers, and other team members to translate creative ideas into visual concepts.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior artists, providing guidance on both traditional and AI-enhanced artistic techniques.
  • Visual Direction: Develop mood boards, sketches, color studies, and final renderings that communicate the visual direction of the game effectively.
  • Style Consistency: Ensure that all concept art is consistent with the game's style, narrative, and gameplay requirements.
  • Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, especially in AI, and apply this knowledge to enhance our creative processes.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in games as a concept artist collaborating with 2D artists and designers to help establish visual targets and character ideation.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop and other relevant painting tools).
  • Artistic Skills: Solid understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, and composition.
  • AI Integration: Demonstrated ability to integrate AI into the creative workflow to improve efficiency and creativity.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Feedback: Ability to take constructive feedback and make iterative improvements to your designs.
  • Passion: Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of how art contributes to the overall game experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Illustration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: Able to communicate in English and Chinese.
  • Mobile Games: Experience in mobile games.
Bonus Skills:
  • AI Tools: AI tools (Midjourney and Stable Diffusion).
  • 3D Software: Basic proficiency in 3D software like 3D Max/Blender for modeling and texture in-game assets.
  • Agile Development: Knowledge of Agile development processes and how art integrates into the pipeline.
