Job Overview

Develop and Implement Innovative Food Solutions

  • Design and execute daily experiments to create new product formulations, leveraging expertise in food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and processing technologies.
  • Discover novel ingredients, flavors, textures, and nutritional profiles to differentiate products in the market.
  • Develop recipes to optimize product functionality for customers.
  • Explore emerging food technologies, sustainable processing methods, and Japanese food applications.
  • Conduct pilot plant trials, including product shelf-life studies and sensory tests.
  • Attend pilot plant/production trials at customers' premises.
  • Assess suitability of new equipment before use.
  • Provide estimates on product costings to ensure profitable formulation.
  • Evaluate experimental samples and work closely with sales teams to address customers' needs.
  • Communicate with sales/marketing teams to understand customers' and market requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, ideas, and technology for products.
  • Share new technology with team members.
  • Launch new projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Agriculture required.
  • Team lead experience necessary.
  • Strong Japanese language skills to connect with HQ A&I Centre members.
  • 4-6 years of working experience in R&D role.
  • Strong knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and processing technologies.
  • Familiarity with sensory evaluation and relevant food regulations.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and technical report writing.
