Social Services Department Lead Position

ECON HEALTHCARE (ASIA) LIMITED seeks a highly skilled and experienced individual to assume the role of Director of Social Care Services, reporting directly to the CEO.

Job Summary

We are looking for an exceptional leader with a strong background in medical social services to oversee our Social Services Department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership roles, with a minimum of 10 years' experience managing a team of social workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership to the Social Services Department by establishing short- and long-term strategic goals that align with the organisational mission.
  • Lead and manage the Social Services Department, providing guidance and support to a team of social workers and support staff.
  • Conduct regular supervision and performance evaluations to foster professional growth and development among team members.
  • Participate in the development of policies and protocols to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Strategic Planning and Programme Development

The Director of Social Care Services will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating social service programmes that address the needs of residents and their families. This will involve staying informed about current trends and best practices in social work and adjusting programmes accordingly to meet evolving resident needs.

Clinical Expertise and Collaboration

The successful candidate will possess specialised clinical skills in areas such as grief counselling, mental health support, and case management. They will be expected to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement holistic care plans that prioritise the safety and well-being of residents.

Resident Assessment and Support

The Director of Social Care Services will conduct assessments to identify residents' and families' social, emotional, and financial needs, creating tailored intervention plans. They will also provide financial counselling and advisories, assisting residents and their families in navigating financial resources, government assistance, and social support services.

Training and Development

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting training and professional development workshops for the social services team to enhance skills and knowledge. They will also mentor junior social workers and support staff to cultivate a supportive and knowledgeable team environment.

Mentorship and Team Leadership

The Director of Social Care Services will be expected to lead by example, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and dedication to improving the quality of life for residents and their families. They will provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and employee well-being.

Requirements
  • A recognised Degree in Social Work or Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent from a recognised institution.
  • Accreditation as Registered Social Worker with the Social Work Accreditation and Advisory Board (SWAAB) is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Medical Social Services with a proven track record in leadership roles managing a team of social workers.
  • Strong understanding of social services, financial counselling, and resource availability in Singapore.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Empathetic, compassionate, and dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to inform decisions and strategies.
  • Proactive and innovative mindset with a passion for promoting a culture of continuous learning and employee well-being.
Estimated Salary Range: SGD 12,000 - SGD 18,000 per month
