Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Specialist to join our Day Surgery team. As a key member of the ward, you will provide exceptional nursing care and services to patients undergoing peri-operative procedures.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified nurse to develop their skills and expertise in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with anaesthetists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure seamless transitions throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate peri-anaesthesia patient care in order to achieve optimum patient outcome.
  • To ensure the care and maintenance of AU machine and equipment are functioning prior administration of anaesthesia to the patient.
  • To demonstrate good and competent clinical skills, knowledge and critical thinking in the delivery of quality nursing skills.
  • To participate in the care and maintenance of specialized equipment, ensuring an agreed standard of decontamination/disinfection at all times including accurate record of traceability of all equipment.
  • To collaborate with anaesthetists and other healthcare providers in the anaesthesia unit in order to deliver safe and high-standard care.
  • To assist in day surgery cases and other minor surgery cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Candidates with Advanced Nursing Diploma or equivalent will have an advantage.
  • A meticulous and analytical team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience preferably in Perioperative/Peri-anesthesia or equivalent.
