Research Scientist in Cognitive Science

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to contribute to a psychological research study exploring the intersection of cognitive science and experiential learning. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop research skills and knowledge relevant to both academic and industry contexts.
The project aims to investigate the role of adaptive forgetting and remembering in enhancing knowledge acquisition through systematic reviews, Delphi Study phase, and a series of cognitive experiments. Your experience in conducting academic research, including administrative aspects, and proficiency in mixed-methods studies will be essential in driving this project forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
- Undertake the following responsibilities:
i. Liaise with research participants, members of the research team, and other professionals.
ii. Assist in creating and refining research materials and methodologies.
iii. Assist with data collection in the field, execute and oversee research experiments, data processing, data entry, and analysis.
iv. Maintain accurate records of data collected, safeguarding participant confidentiality as necessary.
v. Manage administrative tasks related to the research projects, such as applying for ethics approval, coordinating meetings, scheduling research tasks, and requesting information.
vi. Conduct literature reviews and systematic reviews.
vii. Assist in preparing research reports, findings, and presentations to stakeholders.
viii. Coordinate and attend project meetings, monitor the project budget, and work on other projects and initiatives as required.
ix. Prepare, maintain, and update website materials.
x. Prepare and write manuscripts for publications with the research team.
- Carry out Risk Assessments and ensure compliance with Work, Safety, and Health Regulations.
- Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
- Work independently and within a team to ensure proper operation and maintenance of research equipment.
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Relevant competence in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A good degree with honours in a relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, neuroscience, public health, allied health etc.).
- Knowledge of research-related software such as Endnote, STATA, SPSS will be an advantage.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of SGD $50,000 - $65,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
