Procurement Specialist Job Description

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the procurement process of our organization. Your primary responsibilities will include sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials from local and overseas suppliers.

  • Tactical/Strategic Purchasing: You will be responsible for tactical and strategic purchasing, including sourcing, negotiating, placing orders, and following up on deliveries.
  • Vendor Management: You will handle vendor management, including managing local and overseas suppliers.
  • Delivery Management: You will manage on-time delivery programs, expedite delivery of materials to meet production requirements, and handle supplier shipment discrepancies.
  • Reporting and Planning: You will update daily and monthly planning and purchasing reports and follow up weekly with suppliers on forecasted requirements.
  • Purchasing Order Generation: You will generate purchasing orders, expedite, reschedule, and handle excess inventory control management.
Requirements
  • Education: A minimum diploma qualification or other relevant certificates are required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing or contract manufacturing is required.
  • Skills: Knowledge of procurement and supply chain principles, proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Epicor), good communication and negotiation skills, self-motivation, and high responsibility under pressure are required.
  • Raw Materials Knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials and OEM is a must.
