Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to join our team in delivering expert-level network integration consultancy and support services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, assessing, implementing/integrating & supporting networks to ensure maximum availability and functionality.

  • Provide strategic network planning and design services to clients.
  • Participate in or lead coverage of Nokia install bases of medium to large Service Provider customers and drive the development of the IP Core Network.
  • Support clients with campus, security, and data center networks as needed.
  • Deliver detailed assessments of the Nokia install base, including network and change management processes.
  • Interpret client needs and assess full requirements to identify suitable solutions.
  • Support service delivery and network solution implementation.
  • Work closely with project/operations managers to ensure compliance to set processes and drive technical leadership discussions with customers.
  • Collaborate with sales and regional teams to prepare proposals and Statements of Work.
  • Evaluate and identify additional business opportunities in collaboration with sales team.
  • Closure of engagements requires smooth customer relationships and guidance to next steps.
  • Provide troubleshooting service for network infrastructure related incidents and problems.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant degree/diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Professional level Networking Certifications or higher.
  • Deep working knowledge in IP Core technologies for Service Provider Core networks (Provider & Provider Edge).
  • Rich hands-on experience in technologies such as: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS Label Protocols, QoS, IPv6, L2/L3 VPNs.
  • The ability to perform highly technical L1, L2, and L3 troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with STP, HSRP/VRRP, LISP, high availability, network/device security, QoS, IP SLA, network management.
  • Exposure to at least one of the following would be a plus: SDWA, IP RAN, Packet data roaming network, 3G/4G (LTE) /5G network architecture, SDDC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective consulting and communication skills.
  • Experience in building and designing large multi-protocol inter-networks is an added advantage.
