Job Title: Laboratory Support Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Laboratory Support Associate in a Science laboratory setting.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist science teachers in preparing materials and apparatus for lessons and practical exams, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of Science laboratories and surrounding areas, including the rooftop garden.
  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance of equipment, arrange repairs when necessary, and ensure proper care of plants and animals in the Science department.
  • Keep track of stock records and equipment lists, providing accurate documentation and summarization as required.
  • Support science-related events with enthusiasm and professionalism.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a primary school laboratory setting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment, chemical preparation, disposal procedures, and hazardous spill cleanup is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel is necessary for administrative tasks.
  • Understanding of classroom procedures, including facilitating science experiments and group work, is crucial for success in this role.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain organization is vital for meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Careful attention to detail in documentation, summarization, and laboratory procedures is essential for accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to provide guidance, instructions, and directions to others is an important aspect of this role.
