Electrical Systems Specialist

The primary objective of this position is to perform installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronics systems for onboard vessels and power plants.

  • Identify issues with electrical equipment and provide recommendations for problem resolution.
  • Determine the necessary parts required for repairs and place orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with mechanical Foreman to ensure timely completion of electrical work scope.

This role requires strong knowledge of technical drawings and other documents related to electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret these documents to determine appropriate repair parts and procedures. Additionally, they must be able to operate and inspect completed work to determine repair success.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical / Professional:

  • Holding an ITE certificate in electrical or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical repair related roles.

Technological:

  • Strong working knowledge of marine electrical and electronics systems, including installation, maintenance, repair and replacement.

General:

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Capacity to handle work professionally, independently and effectively.

People/Relations:

  • Excellent supervisory skills.
