Senior Civil Cost Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Cost Specialist to join our team. This role involves conducting detailed cost assessments for civil construction projects, providing specialized Preconstruction and Post-Contract support for large-scale civil works and transit infrastructure projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough cost estimation and reviews for civil construction projects, from planning and design phases through to the construction phase.
  • Handling project management and construction management tasks, such as constructability and risk assessment, while collaborating with project teams to understand technical requirements and specifications.
  • Gathering essential information for precise cost evaluations and project execution.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop various cost estimating deliverables throughout the construction lifecycle.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related construction field, along with at least 15 years of experience in providing cost estimating support for heavy civil construction projects, including transportation and water infrastructure.

Strong skills in cost analysis, change order evaluation, and negotiation are essential. Proficiency in electronic takeoff software, particularly HCSS, is required, while proficiency in Primavera P6 is considered a plus.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related construction field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in providing cost estimating support for heavy civil construction projects, including transportation and water infrastructure.
  • Strong skills in cost analysis, change order evaluation, and negotiation.
  • Proficiency in electronic takeoff software, particularly HCSS.
  • Consideration of proficiency in Primavera P6.
