Job Description

The role of a Cook is to prepare and present visually appealing and delicious dishes. This involves accurately weighing and measuring ingredients, mixing and prepping according to recipes, and cooking using various methods such as steaming, grilling, broiling, baking, or frying.

A Cook must ensure that all food and ingredients used are fresh and of good quality, arranging and garnishing dishes to make them visually appealing, and working efficiently within time limits to meet customer demand.

Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment is crucial for a Cook. This involves ensuring that equipment, utensils, and the kitchen area are cleaned and sanitized regularly.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Culinary school 3 year degree or foreign equivalency is preferred.
  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions is required.
  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation is necessary.
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes is essential.
  • Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc. is required.
