Job Overview:

This position is focused on conducting pulmonary physiology tests, exercise testing, polysomnography test, ambulatory sleep test, and pulse oximetry studies. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing CPAP counselling services, information on polysomnography and pulmonary physiology tests, evaluating patient findings, and assessing clinical implications.

Prior experience in a sleep laboratory and/or a pulmonary function laboratory in a hospital setting is highly valued. You will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical research activities and contribute to quality improvement projects within the department.

To succeed in this role, you should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. Additionally, you must hold a degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent, and have a minimum of six years of experience working in a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Pulmonary Physiology Tests: Perform routine tests to assess lung function and respiratory health.
  • Exercise Testing and Polysomnography:** Conduct tests to evaluate sleep patterns and provide accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
  • Ambulatory Sleep Test and Pulse Oximetry Study: Perform non-invasive tests to monitor sleep patterns and oxygen levels.
  • Provide CPAP Counselling Services: Offer guidance and support to patients requiring Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy.
  • Evaluate Patient Findings: Analyze results from various tests and assessments to identify trends and abnormalities.
  • Assess Clinical Implications: Evaluate the impact of patient findings on overall health and well-being.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results and patient data.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with medical professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and new technologies.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Projects: Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and departmental efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum six years of experience working in a sleep laboratory and/or a pulmonary function laboratory in a hospital setting.
