Lead Innovation Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Innovation Strategist to spearhead our innovation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in innovation programme management, transformation leadership, defence operations or capability development.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional to lead our innovation strategy, build strategic partnerships and drive the translation of dual-use solutions. You will be responsible for scaling innovation initiatives across the defence ecosystem, managing innovation-whitespace funding, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead innovation initiatives and lead our innovation strategy
  • Build strategic partnerships across the Whole-of-Government (WoG) innovation ecosystem
  • Collaborate with DSTA and DSO to accelerate the translation of dual-use solutions
  • Manage innovation-whitespace funding to fuel experimentation and prototyping
Requirements:
  • At least 8 years of experience in innovation programme management, transformation leadership, defence operations or capability development
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Funding management expertise
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to decide under pressure
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and resilient approach
