Job Opportunity: Microbiologist

The role of a microbiologist is pivotal in ensuring the quality and safety of raw materials, products, and processes within an organization. This position demands a high degree of skill, knowledge, and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To conduct quality control microbiological testing of raw materials, incoming goods, intermediates, and/or finished products under cGMP conditions for QC release or as part of stability studies.
  • Supporting monitoring of facility utilities systems.
  • Supporting equipment qualification.
  • Performing and coordinating calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Being involved in aseptic process simulations.
  • Supporting method transfer/verification/validation for new product introduction.
  • Performing periodic reviews for laboratory documents.
  • Leading microbiological inventory management.
  • Maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of laboratory data.
  • Maintaining individual's training records.
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicating in site and global platforms.
  • Ensuring cGMP is applied and adhered to in their area of work.
  • Collaborating with HSE, cGMP and maintaining a 5S approach.
  • Performing tasks required by the Manager.
  • Supporting shift work when required.

The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Microbiology, Biology or a strongly related scientific field, with minimum 2 years of laboratory experience. Experience in basic microbiological techniques, such as bioburden testing, endotoxin testing, and environmental monitoring, is also essential. Proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required. Knowledge in FDA, EMA, HSA, Global regulatory requirements applicable to microbiology and environmental monitoring in biologics is highly desirable.
