Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Power Systems: Develop and implement robust power systems using solar cells and Lithium-ion Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries.
  • Analyze and Optimize Power Needs: Analyze and optimize the power needs of the satellite and its payload, ensuring efficient energy use throughout its mission.
  • Oversee Electrical Architecture: Oversee the entire electrical architecture, including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and harness design.
  • Lead Verification and Validation: Lead the verification and validation process, guaranteeing the power system functions flawlessly.
  • Collaborate with Satellite System Engineering Team: Collaborate closely with the satellite system engineering team to ensure seamless integration of your design.
  • Support Mission Analysis: Support all mission analysis and translate requirements into a powerful electrical system.
  • Author Technical Documents: Author key technical documents, including specifications, budgets, and test plans.
  • Monitor Suppliers and Integrated Product Team: Monitor suppliers and the integrated product team, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Provide Expert Guidance: Provide expert guidance and support throughout program reviews.
  • Oversee Subsystem Assembly, Integration, and Testing: Oversee subsystem assembly, integration, and testing, and analyze test data.
  • Author Subsystem Operations Manual: Author the subsystem operations manual for future reference.
  • Support In-Orbit Testing: Support in-orbit testing to ensure the power system performs flawlessly in space.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in Power Subsystems Design: Experience in designing and testing power subsystems for satellites would be great.
  • Deep Understanding of Space Environment and Orbital Mechanics: A deep understanding of the space environment and orbital mechanics.
  • Strong Grasp of Aerospace Systems and Engineering Principles: A strong grasp of aerospace systems and engineering principles.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A knack for problem-solving, with a combination of analytical, creative, and hands-on skills.
  • Leadership and Coaching Experience: Experience leading system integration processes and a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French a plus).
  • Passion for Space Exploration: A passion for space exploration and a desire to make a lasting impact.
