Senior Fire Protection Engineer

As a Fire Protection Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients' fire protection systems. Your expertise will be invaluable in planning, leading, and managing projects to implement fire protection designs and installations throughout the design development, contract documentation, authority submissions, site administration, and testing phases. Additionally, you will maintain our organization's EHS management system by inspecting its implementation, performing frequent audits, evaluating compliance with legal regulations, EHS MS, and other standards. Your analytical skills and collaborative approach will enable you to effectively solve problems and drive results.
Responsibilities:
- Review fire protection design and construction drawings for compliance with SCDF and BCA regulations, providing optimization suggestions as needed.
- Review contractors' fire protection system construction standards, equipment specifications, and SCDF acceptance requirements.
- Approve installation MS, material submission, and samples provided by contractors.
- Liaise with stakeholders involved in fire protection systems to resolve issues during design and construction.
- Monitor fire protection construction progress according to the overall project implementation plan.
- Supervise the quality and compliance of fire protection construction based on fire protection design drawings, company internal requirements, and local regulatory requirements.
- Approve contractor-submitted fire protection system commissioning plans to ensure compliance with SCDF requirements.
- Review, approve, and archive contractor-submitted as-built drawings, equipment documentation, and test reports.
- Assist consultants, contractors, and SCDF officers during fire protection site testing/audits, providing explanations of technical solutions.
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering, specializing in Fire Protection Engineering or related fields.
- At least 10 years of experience in fire protection system design, construction, and operation & maintenance for pharmaceutical and chemical plants.
- Familiarity with and proficiency in Singapore's fire protection laws, regulations, and relevant standards.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and related tools.
- Experience in leading fire protection projects to successfully pass SCDF drawing audits and site audits.
- Familiarity with FSSD submission systems and approval processes.
- Ability to coordinate across departments and investigate accident hazards.
- Knowledge of Singapore's various fire protection systems and products, with the ability to develop inspection requirements and plans for fire protection maintenance service providers.
- Able to establish documentation systems that comply with Singapore's emergency management, fire safety training, and fire protection facility maintenance requirements.
- Excellent English writing and communication skills; Chinese communication & Writing is preferred to work with stakeholders from China and other countries.
