Genomic Analysis Tool Developer

Illumina is revolutionizing human health by expanding access to genomic technology. As a Systems Integration Engineer/Scientist 1, you will play a critical role in creating cutting-edge genomic analysis tools used in scientific and clinical research.
Key Responsibilities:- Integrate hardware, software, and chemistry components to develop high-quality products.
- Execute test plans to optimize product performance and collect data.
- Communicate experimental results and observations in group settings.
- Contribute to the investigation of technical problems and follow standard procedures.
- Operate systems with a customer-centric approach, ensuring usability, safety, and efficient workflows.
- Track and maintain lab supplies and consumable inventory.
- Provide support to manufacturing, FIT, external alpha/beta testing, and instruct others in system operation.
- Understanding of sequencing systems and techniques, with a fundamental understanding of one of the core disciplines at an undergraduate level.
- Ability to describe the steps and components required to execute an E2E workflow across interfaces.
- Basic wet laboratory experience.
- Understanding of hardware and software configuration management.
- Rudimentary ability to perform engineering work following instructions.
- Programming experience in languages such as Python, Perl, or LabView.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Open-minded and comfortable expanding knowledge to other core disciplines.
- Solid communication and writing skills.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
