Job Summary

SGX FICC Internship Programme

SGX is a leading market infrastructure, facilitating the exchange of capital and ideas to create value for people, businesses, and economies. As a multi-asset exchange operating equity, fixed income, and derivatives markets to the highest regulatory standards, SGX is a vertically integrated business that provides listing, trading, clearing, settlement, depository, and data services.

As a FICC Intern, you will be immersed in the respective specialist functions at SGX, working on real-time projects from Day 1. You will gain insights into the Exchange business and the finance value chain, developing skills in data analytics, business intelligence, and market operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop dashboards to monitor business performance and drive business outcomes
  • Support the development of analytics on order book, volume-driven liquidity, and pricing models
  • Research and develop quantitative trading ideas and strategies for commodity derivatives products
  • Collect and analyze trade data for research reports, news articles, and white papers
  • Assist with the content, layout, and design of marketing materials to drive trading activity

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java, C#, Python, Groovy, Perl), SQL
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint, including VBA/Macros
  • Good attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fast and smart learner, especially in programming languages
  • Highly conscious of productivity and detail-oriented
  • Great team player with flexibility in handling different workstreams

SGX FICC Internship Programme

This internship programme offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the FICC business, working on real-time projects and developing skills in data analytics, business intelligence, and market operations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of FX market microstructure, marketplace, and competitions
  • Data mining of daily trading volume and open interests, mapping for cross-selling opportunities
  • Regular weekly and monthly write-ups of the FX market
  • Customer validation report for new and existing products
  • Monthly sales presentation material research

Job Description:

  • Assist in market microstructure analysis and SWOT review of various FX products
  • Help with end-of-day Daily Settlement Price move deviation report
  • Help with the production of marketing material and pitch research
  • Assist with weekly and monthly write-ups of Global macro drivers and FX market performance

Requirements:

  • Detail-oriented, good analytical skills
  • Good command of English and/or Mandarin will be useful
  • Good Excel skills, including power pivot, data and detail-oriented
