Job Title:
Laboratory Specialist in DNA Profiling
Job Summary:
As a member of our Biology Division, you will play a critical role in DNA profiling of reference samples for criminal investigation. You will work under the supervision of scientists to perform DNA tests and assist them in developing/validating new technologies/methods. Additionally, you will be responsible for laboratory administrative duties such as equipment maintenance, inventory, and purchase of consumables.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform DNA tests under the supervision of scientists.
• Assist scientists in developing/validating new technologies/methods.
• Assist in laboratory administrative duties such as equipment maintenance, inventory, purchase of consumables, and preparation of laboratory reagents/supplies.
• Assist in laboratory quality assurance duties such as checking for expiry dates and conduct of basic performance checking tests.
Requirements:
• Background in Biology/Biomedical Science/Biotechnology (or equivalent) is a must.
• Successfully completed supervised laboratory research project in biochemistry/molecular biology area.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
