Flow Cytometry Specialist Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Flow Cytometry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining flow cytometry instruments, preparing and processing biological samples, troubleshooting and optimizing protocols, and maintaining accurate records of experiments and results.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain flow cytometry instruments and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy in data analysis.

  • Prepare and process biological samples for flow cytometric analysis, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize flow cytometry protocols and procedures, collaborating with scientists to resolve complex issues.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, results, and protocols, facilitating efficient data management and quality control.

  • Collaborate with scientists to support flow cytometry needs, providing expert technical assistance and guidance.

  • Evaluate sample acceptability based on established guidelines and process specimens for analysis in accordance with established written procedures.

  • Accurately evaluate test results according to standardized protocols, ensuring high-quality data and reliable conclusions.

  • Maintain quality control measures during testing to ensure compliance with established quality standards, documenting corrective and preventative actions.

  • Maintain overview of reagent inventory, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.

  • Assist in the proper maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment, adhering to manufacturer specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Participate in internal and external quality assessment as required, contributing to continuous improvement and quality enhancement.

  • Comply with good laboratory practices for all procedures, ensuring adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical, Immunology, or biological science from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a flow cytometry laboratory, preferably with proven experience with instrument operation and data analysis.

  • Strong understanding of flow cytometry principles and techniques, including immunophenotyping and common applications.

  • Familiarity with analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and organizational skills, enabling effective data management and record-keeping.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration and conflict resolution.
