Job Title: Senior Piping Layout Designer

Job Responsibilities:
  • Piping Design and Layout: Plan and perform 3D modeling using S3D for mechanical, safety, soft volumes, escape & transport routes, access, and material handling routes. Create piping and pipe support designs in compliance with project requirements.
  • Familiarity with Offshore Facilities: Understand the design of off-shore facilities including platforms and FPSO layout, material handling, piping/pipe support design, and safety requirements.
  • Design Change Management: Effectively manage design changes and provide suitable solutions during project execution.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate with other discipline design teams to optimize the use of 3D modeling space and minimize last-minute design changes.
  • Pipe Stress Team Liaison: Liaise closely with the pipe stress team to obtain inputs for finalizing pipe routing and pipe support locations and types.
  • Vendor Drawing Review: Review vendor drawings for static equipment's/rotating equipment's/packages and ensure that nozzle orientations and vessel cleats support requirements align with design specifications.
  • Model Clashes: Perform regular model object clash checks and collaborate with other disciplines to maintain a clash-free 3D model before construction.
  • Lead Engineer Support: Assist the lead engineer in creating a quality plan for layout/piping design, preparing plans and schedules, estimates, progress measurement, contributing to technical presentations, and writing reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Certificate: Hold a diploma or certificate in mechanical engineering with experience in piping layout design.
  • Experience: Possess at least 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Offshore Experience: Be familiar with offshore/FPSO piping layout and support design concepts.
  • Teamwork and Leadership: Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and coordinate well with the piping materials and stress teams, as well as other disciplines.
  • S3D Proficiency: Have hands-on experience with the S3D suite of applications, including MDS.
  • Team Leadership: Be able to lead and guide a team of piping/MDS designers on assigned areas/sub-areas.
  • Senior Design Experience: Have performed as a senior piping designer in similar-sized offshore platform/FPSO projects.
  • Offshore Experience: Have experience in offshore platform/FPSO piping and support design.
