Job Description

A dynamic and results-driven Aquatics Coach is required to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a speciality in Water Polo and be able to adapt to an ever-changing swim programme within the context of an International School setting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coaching:
    • Work with team members to achieve a common goal and improve as a team.
    • Lead Water Polo Coach responsible for developing and implementing coaching strategies.
    • Coach within Junior Swim Squad Program focusing on skill development and teamwork.
    • Teach within the Learn to Swim program ensuring effective learning outcomes.
    • Act as a support Coach with the Senior Squads when necessary, providing guidance and expertise.
    • Prepare, plan and deliver technically sound session plans in line with the overall program philosophy and plan.
    • Monitor student attendance/progress and provide feedback to parents periodically, promoting continuous improvement.
    • Manage & achieve targets based on annual plans, demonstrating exceptional time management skills.
    • Assist PE teachers with delivering PE lessons during swim units throughout the school year, enhancing overall curriculum delivery.
    • View every setback during coaching as an opportunity to learn and improve, fostering a growth mindset.
  • Operational:
    • E nsure the pool area is safe, secure and presentable at all times, adhering to high standards of facility maintenance.
    • Maintain necessary administrative log records and arrange setup and clearing of equipment for swim classes and events, streamlining operational processes.
    • Maintain the Equipment checklist and report to the Head of Aquatics any concerns, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
  • Administrative:
    • Assist in coordinating pre-season assessments, registrations, trials, and class allocations, facilitating smooth transitions and efficient use of resources.
    • Assist with the sign-up process, ensuring seamless communication and clear expectations.
    • Respond to and follow up on any parent enquiries by email and telephone, providing prompt and professional service.
  • Hosting Meets and Invitationals:
    • Attend and coach at meets in which the Aquatics Team is competing, contributing to the team's success.
    • Plan sessions and track athletes' performance, using data to inform coaching decisions.
    • Assist in ensuring competitions can be run smoothly, minimizing disruptions and maximizing participant experience.
    • Assist in liaising with parent volunteers and High School volunteers, providing direction and guidance to their supporting role.
