Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our research team as a Research Fellow. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on an academic research project funded by a government agency, collaborating with industry partners and academia.

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on the research project, which involves developing and demonstrating Building-to-Grid Integration through Intelligent Optimization and Predictive Control. This requires establishing a test bed in our campus building, benchmarking current energy performances, deploying new sensors and hardware, and evaluating energy savings.

As a Research Fellow, you will be required to coordinate with multiple internal and external parties for the successful deployment of technology, test-bedding, and energy performance evaluation. You will also participate in managing the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, and research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish test bed in our campus building and benchmark current energy performances
  • Deploy new sensors and hardware and evaluate energy savings
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties for technology deployment and testing
  • Participate in managing the research project with the PI and research team members
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need a PhD degree in electrical/civil/mechanical engineering or related fields. You should also possess expert knowledge of building air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation, simulation, building automation and control, sensor network, thermal energy storage, indoor air quality, heat transfer, and energy management systems.
