Rehabilitation Specialist

The role of a Rehabilitation Specialist is pivotal in the development and provision of rehabilitative care and services based on a patient-centric model to residents of nursing facilities.

You will have opportunities to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to design tailored rehabilitation programmes for patients, which may include preventive and treatment programmes utilising cutting-edge technology or robotics.

Your responsibilities will also encompass providing education to caregivers to facilitate patients' recovery and maintaining effective communication with various disciplines involved in the rehabilitation process.

  • Assess and evaluate patients' rehabilitation needs, formulate and implement individualised rehabilitation programmes, and monitor progress to ensure effective treatment.
  • Evaluate and prescribe assistive devices to enhance function in daily activities as required by patients.
  • Guide and supervise rehabilitation students, therapist assistants, caregivers, and volunteers on their performance of duties and implementation of programmes.

Maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation is crucial for evidence-based treatment. Any additional tasks assigned by the Rehab Manager or Director of Nursing must be fulfilled.

Requirements:

  • Degree in physiotherapy recognised by the relevant governing body.
  • Preferably with 1-2 years of experience in rehab services, hospitals, care homes, and rehab centres. Full registration with the relevant governing body preferred.
