In this position, you will oversee Acronis' internal IT frameworks and virtualization solutions. Your responsibilities will include deploying, updating, and maintaining distributed virtualization clusters, collaborating with various teams to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently met. This role may necessitate occasional after-hours work in response to urgent situations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Many of our internal systems operate on Linux, utilizing both physical servers and virtual machines, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Your duties will encompass:

  • Deploying, managing, and upgrading Linux servers, employing Ansible for uniform provisioning and configuration.
  • Overseeing infrastructure monitoring (Zabbix and Prometheus), implementing new monitoring checks, and phasing out outdated ones.
  • Resolving issues as they arise, ensuring that service level objectives (SLOs) are achieved.
  • Utilizing operational insights to design and implement enhancements for improved security, stability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Maintaining documentation and the configuration repository.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in Linux system administration, both on physical hardware and in virtualized settings.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies, including iSCSI, RAID, and software-defined storage (SDS).
  • Understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles, with experience in Ansible and shell scripting for Linux administration and automation.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies, including hands-on experience with Docker, KVM, and oVirt.
  • Experience with GIT in collaborative development environments.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of MySQL administration.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Ruby, or Go is highly beneficial.
  • A willingness to learn and acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • A curious mindset and persistence in problem-solving.
