Job Opportunity for Aquaculture Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to fill the role of Aquaculture Specialist. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic professional looking to contribute to research and development in aquaculture, specifically in husbandry, fish breeding, developmental biology, transcriptomics, molecular biology techniques, optimization of operations, diagnostics, health, and genetics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct life science related R&D experiments and routine operations with a focus on aquaculture, including laboratory techniques, data analysis, and project coordination.
  • Work with project leaders to achieve the aims of research projects and contribute to the development of new ideas and methods.
  • Mentor students involved in final year projects, internships, short-term work attachments, and similar programs, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in life science, Aquaculture, Agriculture, or Molecular Biology, with a strong foundation in biological principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels, from colleagues to stakeholders.
  • Sound planning, organizing, and multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of responsibility for completing assigned duties on time and to a high standard.
  • Proficient in IT skills, including data analysis software, laboratory equipment, and other relevant tools.
  • Good documentation skills, laboratory techniques, research and data analysis skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aquaculture operations and/or research would be an added advantage, providing a competitive edge in this field.
