Electrical Engineer Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced electrical engineer to join our team.

  • Perform electrical works and maintenance tasks onboard vessels, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.
  • Assist in guiding onboard service engineers on tasks requiring electrical competencies, promoting efficient operation and maintenance of electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/automation systems.
  • Carry out termination works, trouble-shooting 4-stroke generator safety systems, and electrical governors, providing value-added services.
  • Advise customers and supervisors on the need for shore assistance or spare parts procurement in case of equipment failures or defects.
  • Collaborate with service managers to conduct onboard attendance, provide work-done reports, and submit them accordingly.
  • Experience in maintaining marine alternators is an asset, as is annual calibration of cargo tanks temperature and pressure sensors, manifold pressure gauges, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken) are essential, as well as the ability to travel and work irregular hours when required.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Technical Certificate
  • Preferably 5 years of relevant work experience in the Marine Electrical Industry
  • Hands-on experience working onboard sea-going vessels as ETO (Electrical-Technical Officers) is valuable
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis related to electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems, including air conditioning and ventilation systems
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings (electrical and pneumatic)
  • Familiar with regulatory and legislative shipping industry environment
  • Team player with excellent collaboration skills, able to communicate effectively with office technical teams and shipboard teams
