As a highly skilled medical professional, you will contribute to the Department of Otolaryngology in terms of clinical service and training.

  • You will be responsible for managing patients under the charge of specialists, performing at the same level as a Medical Officer, including calls and responsibilities on the same roster.
  • Competence will be assessed individually by the Head of Department (HOD) and duties assigned accordingly.
  • You will assist, guide, and supervise House Officers in their duties, reviewing new cases promptly and checking findings and notes.
  • Writing accurate and complete Hospital Inpatient Discharge Summary Forms and diagnosis records is a key responsibility.
  • Assisting Senior Medical Staff in running Specialist Outpatient Clinics and obtaining consent for procedures as designated is also part of your role.
  • Keeping relatives informed about patient conditions and explaining procedures to patients and relatives is essential.
  • Signing Death Certificates and obtaining consent for autopsy when necessary are critical tasks.
  • Informing Senior Medical Staff of major problems and discharges against medical advice is also a key responsibility.
  • Participating in departmental teaching activities as directed by the HOD is an important aspect of this role.
Job Requirements
  • Hold an MBBS or postgraduate qualification recognized by the Singapore Medical Council;
  • Have at least 3 years of Medical Officer experience;
  • Be able to work independently in the Department;
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Be adaptable with the ability to do calls.
