Learning Support Role

The role of a Learning Support Officer plays a crucial part in supporting the curriculum and enhancing the overall learning experience for students with special needs.

  • Assist teachers in preparing, adapting, and implementing instructional materials across various learning domains.
  • Help cater to the diverse needs and learning profiles of students through differentiated classroom activities.

In addition, the Learning Support Officer will be involved in monitoring student progress, collecting evidence for assessments, and contributing to Integrated Curriculum activities.

Furthermore, the officer will assist in planning and running sessions that promote students' interests and strengths, while also coordinating logistical aspects of co-curricular activities such as tracking attendance and preparing materials for regular sessions and enrichment programmes.

A key aspect of this role involves resource development. The officer will be responsible for curating, designing, and producing teaching and learning materials, including visual aids, worksheets, and digital content tailored to the needs of the students.

Lastly, the officer will support the collection and organisation of student assessment data as well as behavioural observations, and assist in generating basic data reports used to inform curriculum reviews, Individualised Education Plan discussions, and planning for behavioural interventions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
