Regional Economic and Government Editor

We are seeking a senior editor to lead our economic and government coverage across South and Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of editing high-quality stories and working in a fast-paced news environment.
Key Responsibilities- Help reporters develop story ideas and execute major enterprise projects
- Pitch in on stories big and small as needed
- Collaborate with other platforms to elevate coverage, including graphics, podcasts, television, and newsletters
- Work closely with managers and editors to enhance coverage
- Promote diversity of thought and representation throughout our coverage
- BUILD influential relationships across the newsroom to ensure our coverage captures local developments and resonates globally
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in business journalism
- Experience working in a real-time news environment
- Ability to make sound news decisions quickly
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Capacity to generate original story ideas and see them through
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Previous leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications
