Job Title: Senior Process Safety Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring plant process safety updates and managing MHI safety cases.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage expenditure for Environmental, Social, and Health (ESH) initiatives;
  • Approve purchases of consumables and equipment while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and other requirements;
  • Serve as a leader in major shutdown activities, overseeing logistics and planning to ensure seamless execution;
  • Manage the legal register as part of monitoring compliance and support environmental sustainability efforts;
  • Arrange and monitor annual assessments for ESH-related items, including stacks, IHM, and Noise assessments;
  • Arrange health assessments for employees to promote a safe working environment;
  • Lead EAI and Risk assessment programs for all process-related modifications, identifying potential hazards and developing mitigation strategies;
  • Develop, review, and update related procedures/SOPs to ensure accuracy and effectiveness;
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on ESH matters, providing timely updates and reports;
  • Investigate incidents and report non-conformance to authorities, maintaining transparency and accountability;
  • Develop and oversee all ESH training within the organization, arranging external and internal sessions to enhance knowledge and skills;
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and feedback to ensure optimal competency levels;
  • Maintain records and metrics for ongoing evaluation and improvement of ESH initiatives;
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or Engineering;
  • Professional certifications in ESH or a related field are highly desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience in process safety management and risk assessment;
  • Excellent leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others;
  • Familiarity with MHI regulations and standards is essential.
