Cloud Platform Engineer

As a seasoned Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling a secure, cloud-native developer platform used by hundreds of backend engineers.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include collaborating with backend developers to enhance developer experience, deploying and managing infrastructure on AWS using tools like Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), developing automation pipelines and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools, integrating monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk for observability, maintaining system performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting platform scaling.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and support internal cloud development platforms as part of cross-functional engineering teams
  • Collaborate with developers to improve developer experience
  • Deploy and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS)
  • Develop automation pipelines and CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
  • Integrate monitoring and logging tools for enhanced observability
  • Maintain system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support platform scaling

Requirements:

  • Must-Have Skills:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, including EKS, IAM, EC2, and Lambda
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in software engineering (Java, JavaScript, Python, or .NET)
  • Containerization tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Working knowledge of logging/monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across teams
  • Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience in cloud migration or internal developer platforms
  • Experience with artifact management tools (e.g., JFrog Artifactory)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
