We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our team. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to meet individual needs.
- Conduct clinical assessments and procedures to detect, manage, and meet patients' physical, medical, and psychosocial needs.
- Perform treatments and procedures prescribed by healthcare professionals according to expected standards of practice and guidelines.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, patients, and families.
- Lead a team of nursing staff to provide coordinated and purposeful care to meet the rehabilitative and treatment needs of patients assigned.
- Guide and direct Enrolled Nurse level and below to ensure that quality nursing care is rendered to patients at all times.
- Develop dementia behavior management plans for patients.
- Ensure proper diet management of patients from vendors to patients.
- Provide training on activities of daily living and health teaching to patients, their family members, and the community.
- Record informative, accurate, and concise statements on the nursing care rendered and other matters pertaining to patients in the centre.
- Assist other nursing staff during treatment and examination of patients.
- Practice and promote decontamination procedures and infection control measures based on current knowledge and standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and conducive environment for patients and staff.
- Exercise economy and care in the use of equipment and supplies.
- Perform inventory management for nursing supplies used by the centre.
- Follow nursing policies and procedural guidelines to ensure that work is being carried out appropriately.
- Provide orientation, guidance, mentoring, and coaching to new and less experienced staff.
- Participate in orientation, guidance, and mentoring to new staff and those with less experience to ensure delivery of quality care at all times.
- Prepare work schedules and rosters of Enrolled Nurse level and below staff.
- Participate in in-service teaching to the nursing and ancillary staff.
- Attend continuing education/in-services on a regular basis to maintain skill competency.
- Participate in working committees as assigned.
- Participate in discussions using evidence-based nursing knowledge practices to change outdated practices and improve the delivery of patient care.
- Be a role model to other staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Centre Manager/Senior Staff Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current nursing licensure in good standing
- At least 1 year of experience in acute care or long-term care settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
