Global Crypto and Digital Payments Team Lead

Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial news organizations in the world, renowned for delivering accurate and impactful stories that shape the markets. We are seeking a seasoned journalist to join our global crypto and digital payments team as a lead editor.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling complex financial news across various beats and time zones. This role involves commissioning, editing, and guiding work from reporters on and off the team, with significant bandwidth for innovative approaches spanning our Terminal, digital, TV, and audio platforms.

You will be responsible for:

  • Editing short- and long-form content, from concise bullet points to in-depth enterprise pieces
  • Collaborating closely with reporters across our global newsroom to develop and refine stories
  • Cutting through jargon, making complex concepts appealing and understandable to a broad financial audience
  • Communicating and negotiating editorial priorities with diverse stakeholders worldwide

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of recent business journalism experience as an editor
  • At least 5 years of recent experience editing stories on cryptocurrencies
  • Experience working in a fast-paced real-time news environment
  • Strong news judgment and writing skills
  • Proficiency in creating and editing charts, evaluating data, and communicating complex ideas clearly
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to thrive in a large, dynamic newsroom with high visibility and tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated career growth within an organization
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications
