Low Latency Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Low Latency Systems Engineer to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop low-latency market data ingestion systems with nanosecond-level latency requirements.
  • Perform performance modeling and profiling of trading system modules, focusing on system metrics visualization.
  • Create a custom network stack based on DPDK using kernel bypass technologies for optimized performance.
  • Optimize low-latency communication frameworks, including inter-process/thread communication and user-space timestamp accuracy and synchronization mechanisms.
  • Analyze Linux kernel performance hotspots and perform targeted optimizations for low-latency trading.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in modern C++ with high-performance programming skills.
  • Familiarity with CPU architecture, cache hierarchy, branch prediction, pipeline stalls, and hardware behaviors.
  • Experience in analysis and tuning of core Linux kernel components or CPU microarchitecture behavior analysis, SIMD vectorization, or custom assembly optimization.
  • Proficiency in building system-level latency profiling and microbenchmarking toolchains.

Bonus Points:

  • End-to-end latency reduction for trading systems experience.
  • Performance analysis tools familiarity, including perf, ftrace, bpftrace, VTune, and cachegrind.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and optimizing custom user-space lock-free message queues, shared memory pools, etc.

About the Job:

  • WebSocket protocol expertise with ability to parse and construct custom protocol frames.
  • I/O multiplexing mechanisms such as epoll and io_uring.
  • High-performance WebSocket/FIX SBE protocol clients implementation experience.
  • Familiarity with at least one user-space protocol stack implementation technology, such as netmap or DPDK.
