Reinforcing Ironworker

SINGAPORE MULTISKILL ACADEMY PTE. LTD. is seeking a skilled Reinforcing Ironworker to join our team. As a Reinforcing Ironworker, you will be responsible for reinforcing concrete structures with steel bars, ensuring the stability and durability of our construction projects.

• Concrete Reinforcement: Position and secure steel bars in concrete forms to reinforce concrete, determining the number, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions.
• Steel Bar Placement: Select and place rods in forms, spacing and fastening them together, using wire and pliers.
• Bar Cutting: Cut bars to required lengths, using hacksaw, bar cutters, or acetylene torch.
• Steel Rod Bending: May bend steel rods with handtools or rodbending machine.
• Wire Mesh Reinforcement: May reinforce concrete with wire mesh.
• Welding: May weld reinforcing bars together, using arc-welding equipment.

• Strong understanding of metal fabrication and construction principles.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy steel bars.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
