Plasterer Job Description

This is a skilled trade that involves working with plaster to create smooth, even surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measuring and preparing the work area to ensure accurate and efficient application of plaster.
  • Mixing plaster to the desired consistency for optimal application.
  • Applying plaster to walls and ceilings using trowels, brushes, or spraying equipment.
  • Finessing the plaster application by smoothing and leveling the surface to achieve a professional finish.
  • Creating decorative textures or finishes as required by the project specifications.
  • Maintaining all tools and equipment in good working order to ensure safety and efficiency on the job site.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Weather Resistant Materials: Knowledge of materials and techniques used to protect plaster from adverse weather conditions.
  • Painting and Finishing: Understanding of painting techniques and finishing methods to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Construction Methods: Familiarity with construction methods and techniques used to prepare and apply plaster.
  • Metal Working: Knowledge of metalworking techniques and equipment used in plastering applications.
  • Cement Mixing: Understanding of cement mixing ratios and techniques to achieve the correct consistency.
  • Loading and Unloading: Ability to safely load and unload materials and equipment.
  • Construction Safety: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
  • Tiling and Assembling: Understanding of tiling and assembling techniques used in plastering applications.
  • Carpentry: Familiarity with carpentry techniques and equipment used in plastering applications.
  • Independent Work: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
