Overview:

MTC Consulting Pte. Ltd. is seeking a skilled Purchasing and Merchandising Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing allocated product categories, sourcing and purchasing new products, analysing merchandising costs, and supporting negotiations with business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage allocated product categories to ensure efficient inventory levels and optimal stock turnover.
  • Source and purchase new products from reliable suppliers, considering factors such as quality, price, and lead time.
  • Analyse merchandising costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improve profitability.
  • Support negotiations with business partners to secure the best possible terms and conditions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, replenishment, and stock aging to prevent overstocking and understocking.
  • Communicate potential issues impacting business operations to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Business or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant Purchasing/Merchandising experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Office.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is between $3000 - $3500 per month, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer full benefits, including AWS and staff discount. The role is based in Serangoon and offers a 5-day office hour schedule.

Negotiation Skills:

We are looking for a candidate with excellent negotiation skills, who can effectively communicate with suppliers and business partners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

MS Office Proficiency:

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential for this role, as you will be required to analyse data and create reports to support your work.

Supply Chain Experience:

Previous experience in supply chain management or procurement is highly desirable, as you will be responsible for managing inventory levels, sourcing products, and negotiating with suppliers.

Purchasing and Procurement:

You will be responsible for purchasing and procuring goods and services, ensuring that they meet our quality and quantity requirements.

Inventory Management:

Effective inventory management is critical to our business, and you will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, replenishment, and stock aging to prevent overstocking and understocking.

Category Planning:

You will be responsible for category planning, which involves analysing sales data, identifying trends, and making recommendations to improve sales and profitability.

Pricing and Sourcing:

You will be responsible for pricing and sourcing products, ensuring that they meet our quality and quantity requirements and are competitively priced.
