We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical System Safety Specialist to join our team at ST ENGINEERING LAND MRO & SERVICES PTE. LTD.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of system safety programs, hazard analyses, and risk assessments for various mechanical systems. As a Mechanical System Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company processes and contracted requirements for projects and in-house products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in automotive fields or MRO services. A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required, and a certified Reliability Engineer certification is considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop system safety program plans, hazard analyses, and risk assessment documents, safety assessment reports, and hazard logs based on contracted system safety and project requirements.
  • Facilitate system safety reviews and assessments with project system safety working groups and seek technical endorsement for safety assessment reports with company and customer safety review boards.
  • Ensure system safety requirements and implementation comply with company processes and contracted requirements for projects and in-house products.
  • Submit monthly project status reports and updates to Project Managers, System Safety Leads, and Department Managers.
  • Support safety-related administrative functions.
  • Conduct failure investigations and prepare reports for problems or issues based on findings from facts, research, studies, and make necessary recommendations and submit to relevant authorities for approval.
  • Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of mechanical systems (including engine, transmission, powerpack, and driveline), and scopes of work to ensure Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
  • Document work procedures based on technical requirements for MRO components.
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve repair-related problems.
  • Design, maintain, service, and implement components to integrate into in-service systems and interpret specifications and mechanical drawings for any re-engineering work required.
  • Responsible for training technicians; planning, assigning, and directing work to a group of technicians; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Appointed as the lead for a Platform to ensure MRO component serviceability is met at all times.
  • Perform literature searches on subject areas for MRO in mechanical systems, especially in engines and transmissions.
  • Assist in providing technology solutions to overcome complex MRO systems to allow work to focus on the effective integration of people, processes, tools, and technology to improve MRO to the next level.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of working experience related to Automotive fields or MRO Services.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer certification considered an added advantage.
  • Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and strong ability to work within a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas, approaches, and objectives clearly.
  • Work under pressure, independent, and self-motivated.
  • Good listener, able to understand customers' problems or questions, and help them solve it.
  • Customer-oriented.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and a strong team player.
  • Independent, highly motivated, meticulous, resourceful, and possess a positive attitude.
Salary Range

$80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
