Job Title: Skilled Formwork Specialist

Job Description:

As a skilled formwork specialist, you will be responsible for constructing and maintaining wood forms to pour concrete for various structures. You will work closely with construction workers to ensure the forms are in the ideal shapes for the project.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reading and Interpreting Drawings: You will read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints to understand the shapes of the formworks and where the concrete structures will be placed.
  • Determining Materials Needed: You will determine the materials needed to create forms for beams, staircases, or foundations, including measuring, cutting, and shaping wood or metal.
  • Setting Up Forms: You will produce concrete blocks for the project by ensuring the forms are in the ideal shapes and assist construction workers in pouring the concrete into the forms.
  • Removing Forms: After pouring the concrete and allowing it to set, you will remove the wood moulding, repair or replace damaged forms, and do the finishing and fill all the gaps to ensure it's in perfect shape.
  • Cleaning and Maintaining Tools: You will use hand and power tools to cut lumber, drill holes, and fasten the boards together, and maintain the tools and keep them clean.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Leadership: Train and lead foreign workers to complete daily tasks together, reasonably arrange the division of labor and assistance of team members, and participate in progress management.
  • Construction: Knowledge of construction principles and practices.
  • Metalworking: Experience working with metal and understanding its properties.
  • Construction Safety: Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in construction sites.
  • Timber: Ability to work with timber and other materials.
  • Interpreting: Strong reading and interpreting skills.
  • Civil Construction: Understanding of civil construction principles and practices.
  • Concrete Casting: Experience casting concrete and understanding its properties.
  • Engineering: Familiarity with engineering principles and practices.
