Financial Strategist Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Strategist to lead our retail finance operations. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in financial planning, analysis, and management.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts for retail stores and online channels.
  • Store Performance Analysis: Analyze store performance, sales trends, and gross margins to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial Insights: Provide regular financial insights to management on profitability, cost control, and revenue growth.
Accounting and Reporting
  • Closing Processes: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Financial Statements: Ensure timely preparation of P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Fixed Assets Accounting: Manage fixed assets accounting, inventory valuation, and shrinkage analysis.
Finance Operations
  • POS Sales Data: Monitor and reconcile point-of-sale (POS) sales data and ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with merchandising and supply chain to manage stock levels, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
  • Promotional Campaigns: Track promotional campaign results and evaluate return on investment (ROI).
Cash and Credit Control
  • Cash Handling: Manage store cash handling processes and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Banking Relationships: Oversee banking relationships and ensure optimal cash flow management.
Compliance and Internal Controls
  • Internal Controls: Maintain strong internal controls over inventory, sales, and expense claims.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, retail licensing, and statutory reporting requirements.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Finance Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and business partnering capability.
  • Retail Operations: Partner with retail operations teams to support store openings, closures, and expansion plans.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accountancy: A degree in accountancy or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the retail industry.
