Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Social Advocate. In this role, you will play a crucial part in strengthening families, healing trauma, and building more resilient communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations of family dynamics, identify risks, and develop intervention plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Trauma-Informed Counselling: Provide one-on-one and group support using evidence-based approaches to foster healing and resilience.
  • Client Advocacy: Champion the needs of vulnerable families by partnering with government agencies, non-profits, and community stakeholders to secure resources and services.
  • Program Development: Design and lead workshops and support groups that address systemic gaps, empower participants, and build community capacity.
  • Policies and Practices: Collaborate with leadership to review and refine operational policies, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Social Work and/or Counselling is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in casework, risk assessment, and strengths-based practice.
  • Skills: Familiarity with the SASW code of ethics and a deep understanding of local community resources.
  • Partnership Building: Proven ability to build partnerships and navigate multi-agency systems.
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable with MS Office; sensitive to diverse cultures and committed to reflective practice.
