Job Title:

Caregiver and Educator for Young Children

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled caregiver and educator to provide high-quality care and education for our youngest students aged 2 months to 18 months.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, utilizing innovative teaching practices, and fostering a trusting and respectful relationship with our students.

You will play a crucial role in building partnerships with families and the community, ensuring continuity of learning between home and the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Curriculum:
    • Plan and implement teaching and caregiving activities that align with Montessori principles and relevant curriculum frameworks.
    • Evaluate documentation of children's learning and development to better inform planning and teaching.
  • Foster Relationships:
    • Foster a culture of collaboration within the Centre through effective communication strategies.
    • Build strong relationships with families and community members to ensure continuity of care and learning.
  • Manage Routine Caregiving:
    • Review and follow standards and procedures for routine caregiving.
    • Identify opportunities for improving routine caregiving practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Locally accredited qualification in Early Childhood Education and/or Montessori education qualifications or equivalent.
  • Qualifications:
    • Higher Certificate in Infant Care (Category EY1)
    • Advanced Certificate in Early Years (Category EY2)
    • Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (Category L1)
    • Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Category L2)
  • Personal Qualities:
    • Positive, high-energy, and high-charisma personality, capable of building strong relationships with families and community members.
    • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
