Senior/Principal Engineer, Tester Applications, SSD

As a Senior/Principal Tester Applications Engineer within the Systems Integration Group (SIG), you will play a critical role in developing and supporting internal test equipment for SSD technology and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert-level support for engineering and manufacturing teams on tester applications.
  • Collaborate with equipment and test engineering teams to resolve tester-related issues.
  • Analyze and verify tester issues to communicate problem statements back to equipment design teams.
  • Validate new tester software and hardware to ensure release readiness.
  • Work with manufacturing sites and functional groups to integrate and qualify internal testers.
  • Develop processes and tools for accurate maintenance and debugging of internal tester fleets.
  • Provide timely support for manufacturing and engineering tester issues, communicating and prioritizing issues back to equipment design teams.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop tester equipment and supporting hardware, software, and processes.
  • Analyze tester requirements and capabilities.
  • Communicate and mentor technical information to raise awareness and knowledge levels.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field of engineering study.
  • At least 5 years' experience in engineering roles with HDD/SSD test or validation experience or test equipment development/support related experience.
  • Expertise in PCIe/NVee protocols and related debugging; CXL is a plus.
  • Experience with SSD/HDD testing/validation, including test hardware, programs, processes, and methodologies.
  • Very good C/C++ and Python programming skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of SSD test equipment (Advantest MPT3000 experience is a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understand technical information.
