Job Opportunity: Senior Risk Manager

\

Our client, a leading hedge fund in the APAC region, seeks an experienced Senior Risk Manager to join their team and provide regional coverage.

\

This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for enhancing the firm's risk management practices and mitigating risk.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\
  • \
  • Evaluate trading platforms and processes to pinpoint control deficiencies and propose suitable improvements.\
  • Collaborate with trading leaders and operations executives to set control benchmarks and devise ways to assess control performance.\
  • Partner with operations teams to periodically examine and fine-tune pre- and post-trade safeguards for optimal functionality.\
  • Create and roll out robust indicators for tracking key risks and produce routine reports for senior management on critical metrics and emerging risk patterns.\
  • Aid global operational risk colleagues in ongoing tasks like resiliency testing, business continuity planning, risk assessments, and targeted control validations while ensuring compliance with local regulations through framework oversight.\
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including trading leaders, operations executives, and other risk management teams.\
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in risk management.\\/ul\

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • \
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a first or second line of defense role focused on business or trading controls or risk management.\
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, including equity and commodities market frameworks.\
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvements across trading, tech, and regulatory compliance teams.\
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.\
  • Solid comprehension of the full trading lifecycle, including related operational and resilience challenges.\
  • Holder of a Bachelor's or higher degree in STEM or finance.\\/ul\
