Job Overview:
The Carbon Mitigation team plays a vital role in driving Singapore's low-carbon transition by formulating strategies and policies to mitigate climate change. As an officer on this team, you will be responsible for examining carbon mitigation issues from multiple perspectives, assessing trade-offs, and working with other government agencies and stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:
You will develop and review carbon mitigation strategies and policies to enable Singapore to transition to a low-carbon economy while ensuring economic competitiveness and good jobs for Singaporeans. This includes measures set out in our Long-term Low-Emissions Development Strategy and plans to achieve our Nationally Determined Contributions. Additionally, you will develop and implement plans relating to carbon credits to meet our climate targets, ensuring economic competitiveness. You will also collaborate with the private sector, international and multilateral organisations, and like-minded countries to secure access to high-quality carbon credits. Furthermore, you will catalyse and incentivise the development of new carbon credit project types and grow the pipeline of high-integrity carbon credits projects for Singapore.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need experience in policy review and formulation, as well as 0-9 years of relevant experience in climate change/sustainability areas in the public or private sector and/or non-government organisations. Relevant experience in carbon markets or other environmental goods/commodities is also desirable. You will possess strong analytical, interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to work well both independently and in a team. A strong ability to learn on the fly and be driven, meticulous, and resourceful are essential qualities for this role.
